Custom RC pit board with a personalized name beneath a truggy on a workbench

How to Plan Your Custom RC Pit Board: Size, Colors & Sponsors

Your pit table is part of your race program. A custom RC pit board gives you a dedicated work surface and a place to carry the same name, colors, and sponsor lineup you run on your car and shirt.

The Impulsive Design Worx Custom RC Pit Board comes in 1/10 and 1/8 options. Here is what to think through before you build your design.

Start with your car and your pit space

Choose the board option around the scale you race, then measure the space you have available at home and at the track. Think about where your car, stand, tools, and charger normally sit. A board needs to work with that layout.

IDW offers a Custom 1/10 Pitboards option and a Custom 1/8 Pitboards option. If exact dimensions matter for your table or travel setup, contact us to confirm them before ordering. The board is acrylic, with a smooth surface for working on your RC vehicle.

Give the design one clear direction

Start with your main colors and the name you want on the board. Use your current body paint, team shirt, or favorite color combination as a reference. Then decide what should stand out first: your name, a main sponsor, or the overall graphics.

A short, specific set of notes is useful. “Blue and white, Dicus across the bottom, and the main sponsor at the top” gives a much clearer starting point than a long list of unrelated design ideas. Double-check name spelling and capitalization before submitting your details.

Build your sponsor list before you order

Write out every sponsor you want included and note which logos should be most prominent. If a sponsor has several logo versions, mention the version you use. Have your own artwork? Contact IDW about the files and layout before ordering.

Look at the product gallery for examples of how names, logos, and colors can work together. Each pictured board is an example of a personalized design; your order is based on the details you provide.

How to order your custom RC pit board

  1. Select the 1/10 or 1/8 option on the product page.
  2. Add your name, sponsor lineup, colors, and layout notes in the customization field.
  3. Check your details, choose the quantity, and add the board to your cart.

If you are ordering for a particular race, check the current lead time on the product page and contact us about your deadline before placing the order.

Bring the same look to the rest of your gear

Once you have your design direction, you can carry it over to custom name sticker sheets, custom sponsor sticker sheets, and a custom racing T-shirt. Use the same spelling, sponsor list, and color notes across your orders to communicate a consistent look.
